HELLO! I'M KAT!

Hello! I’m Katherine Donovan, a creative producer and visual storyteller based in Chicago. I studied at the Savannah College of Art & Design, earning a BFA in Production Design with a concentration in Scenic & Art Direction, and a minor in Film & Television Production with a focus on producing. My creative foundation began in physical spaces, sets, and environments, and evolved into digital worlds, content ecosystems, and brand storytelling.

Today, I work across film, podcasting, digital content, and design, building visual identities and narrative frameworks that help clients communicate clearly and creatively.

WHAT AM I UP TO TODAY?

My career spans on-set production support, brand strategy, e-commerce builds, podcast producing, and platform-specific content creation. I’ve produced video for travel and lifestyle brands, developed web platforms for artists and retail companies, created over 200 merchandise designs for touring musicians, and built digital systems that drive measurable results for marketing-driven clients.

I’ve designed and launched high-volume e-commerce websites, led digital strategy for multi-brand retail companies, produced and edited educational and authority-driven podcasts, and collaborated with production teams on commercial and independent film sets. From concept through delivery, I enjoy the intersection where storytelling, design, and problem-solving converge.

I also maintain a personal creative practice as a content creator, performer, and improviser, with a combined audience of over 200K across platforms and a background in comedy performance and digital storytelling.

Stray Kat Studio is the home for both sides of my work — client partnerships and personal creativity — operating at the overlap of production and digital strategy.
