Hello I'm Kat

I’m Katherine Donovan (or Kat), a multidisciplinary creative working across film, design, and visual storytelling.

Through my creative practice, Stray Kat Studio, I produce, design, and build stories that live in both digital and physical spaces. My work moves between worlds — one day I’m designing a set or animating a visual sequence, the next I’m developing a podcast or building a website for another artist.

At the core of everything I make is a curiosity for how visuals shape emotion. I approach each project as a mix of story and structure, concept and craft — a process that keeps me equally at home on a film set, behind a camera, or in front of a screen designing the next frame.

Creative Approach

I believe good design and production share the same foundation: intention.
Every visual choice — color, composition, lighting, texture — is an opportunity to communicate something real. Whether I’m designing an environment, directing a scene, or developing a digital experience, my goal is simple: make ideas tangible and human.
